1. Micro mode: This is the mode in which you cook in microwave or reheat food items. This is the only mode available in a solo oven and one of the modes available in convection microwave oven.

My microwave oven

There are three types of microwave oven . They vary a lot in price and on should know their usage to buy perfect one from themselves. I would like to tell you first that OTG(oven toaster griller) is not a microwave oven and it is totally a different kitchen appliance about which we will discuss later. I will make a blog on difference between them to let you know if otg is good for you or not. In this blog also i will tell little about otg at the end.

So, types of microwave oven:-

1. Solo microwave oven -

• Usage:- 
• You can only use this to reheat food or cook food.
• You cannot grill items i.e. you cannot grill sandwiches or cannot make roasted items like paneer tikka or chicken tandoori.
• You cannot bake in it. No baking of pizzas or cakes or cookies.
• Who should buy :- 
• One who doesn't bake anything.
• One who doesn't grill or do not want tandoori items.
• One who only wants to reheat items or,
• One who wants to cook basic items.
• What can you cook :-
• You can cook rice
• You can make sabjis
• You can make simple mug cakes or similar recipes.
• Price :- 

• This is the cheapest microwave oven which you get for 4-5 thousand rupees or around 75 dollars (yes, high range microwave is also available but you can get a decent one at that price). 
• Which one to buy:-

2.  Solo + Grill microwave oven -

• Usage:- 
• You can only use this to reheat food or cook food.

• This is for all types of cooking purpose. You can cook anything.
• One who bake items.
• One who wants to grill or want tandoori items.
• One who wants to reheat items or,

• What can you cook :-
• You can cook rice
• You can make sabjis
• You can make simple mug cakes or similar recipes.

• This one is bit costly but i suggest to go for this one because you can use it for all types of cooking purposes.
• You can get a decent one of about Rs. 11000 or 150 dollars(Yes, low and high range products are available but are not that worth).

Note:- If you only want to bake stuffs and not cook then you are good to go with OTG. Its best for just baking purposes and also cheap . You can get it for around 5k.

Cake is something which everyone loves may it be some occasion like birthday, marriage, anniversary or there may be no such occasion at all. It is a lot of people's interest for dessert and how wonderful it would be if you could make it in two minutes.

Yeah,you heard it right it would take two minutes two make cake or rather i would say coffee mug cake for 1 person.

Instant Mug Cake

Ingredients:-

1. Maida(all purpose flour)- 3 Tablespoon
2. Sugar(Powdered)- 3 Tablespoon
3. Butter- 2 tablespoon
4. vanilla essence - 1/8 teaspoon
5. Baking powder - 1/8 teaspoon
6. Baking soda - 1 pinch
7. Milk - 4 tablespoon
8. Malai or cream - 1 tablespoon

9. Coco powder - 1 tablespoon (if u want chocolate flavor)

I used microwave oven for this recipe but you can try this in gas oven or closed pan.

9. Microwave safe coffee mug only.

Method:-

1. Take the mug.
2. Put maida, sugar baking powder, baking soda , vanilla essence and butter in it in mentioned order.

3. Add choco powder if u want chocolate cake. 3. Add malai to it.
4. Add little milk and mix everything thoroughly using a fork.
5. If required add little more milk to make batter of good consistency.
6. You may put some cake decorative items like chocolate rice or so.
7. Keep it in microwave oven in microwave mode for 1:30 minutes.
8. Take it out and enjoy the delicacy.

Note:- If u don't have microwave try this by keeping batter in a small container in gas oven or closed lid pan in medium flame for 4-5 minutes and let me know in comments if it works(i am certain of it working).
